Picture it…me rushing through Toronto’s Dundas Square on a freezing fall day. My train is arriving in 57 minutes and I have get to the station. I decide to cut through Nordstrom to warm up before hailing a cab. An over-enthusiastic salesperson appears out of nowhere, blocking my path to the exit.

Annoying Salesperson = Skincare Angel
Salesperson: “Ooooh! You’re in a rush! Take a load off and smell this perfume.”
Me: “No, thank you!”
Salesperson: “Great! It’s Le Labo Santal 33. Have you heard of it?”
Me: “Umm yes. Very nice, but…”
Salesperson: “You know, you have really nice skin. This line over here is Eve Lom. Fantastic.” Grabs arm, hauls me over to display. Rubs Eve Lom Cleanser into the back of my hand.
Me: “Look I’m in a rush to catch my train. I really must be on my way.”
Salesperson: “Yes! The cleanser is fantastic! It’s all-natural and I promise you, the best you will ever try. Here, have some samples!!”

I grab the samples, thank him while simultaneously calculating the train ticket change fees I will inevitably have to make. I rush out the door and miraculously hop into a waiting cab.
Several weeks later, I remember the samples and decide to give them a try. I am NOT a cream cleanser/cleansing balm sort of girl. I find most of them heavy, oppressive and terrible at removing makeup. I reluctantly rub some into my face and hope for the best.
Well, it was INCREDIBLE! Firstly, it smelled amazing! It has an earthy, herbal scent with notes of clove and cocoa. The texture was lovely too. I would liken it to margarine or warm butter.
What Made Eve Lom Cleanser So Great?

Well, it removed the inch of makeup that I was wearing that night thanks to an event I attended. Chanel’s Le Volume Mascara – notoriously hard to remove? No problem. Nars Eyeliner? Bye bye. Foundation and concealer? Gone. MAC Cosmetics Ruby Woo lipstick – a bright red which clings on for dear life? Effectively wiped away.
I was stunned. I hadn’t used a more effective cleanser since my beloved SkinMedica Facial Cleanser.
Extra Benefits

I started using this Eve Lom Cleanser during that vicious cold snap we experienced in December. This fall and beginning of winter have been harsh. My skin started to dry out immediately and I noticed a few dry patches on my forehead.
The Eve Lom Cleanser really soothed the dryness. In addition to removing the makeup like an all-star, it moisturized my winter-irritated skin and left it glowy and hydrated.
I was so impressed that I marched my butt to Sephora and bought myself a jar…and that was not the cheapest thing to do. The “regular” size weighs in at a hefty $99 while the large jar is $166. Sigh…I begrudgingly accept that this price is worth it as I cannot deny the glowing benefits of this award-winning cleansing balm.
I guess I should be happy too. I just happened to snag some during a Sephora restock. It’s notoriously constantly sold out…
How To Use

Not only is the Eve Lom Cleanser a bit of a skincare miracle, the simple act of using it feels like a mini spa date in itself.
The instructions are simple, but they force you to slow down and enjoy the process. I tell ya, at the end of a long, hard day, taking the five minutes to use this cleanser really makes a positive difference in my mood.
So, I normally use the cleanser only when I need to remove a lot of makeup, but please note that it is safe to use twice a day.
Fill your sink with warm water. Next, massage a small amount into your face and neck. The cleanser comes with a set of muslin cloths to remove the balm and makeup. Immerse the cloth (you can also use a washcloth) into the warm water, wring out gently and apply to your face and neck. This action opens pores, increases blood flow leading to a more bright, clear look. Take a deep breath and relax. Work the cloth in gentle circular motions until all traces of the cleanser and makeup are gone.
Rinse the cloth in cool water then apply again to your face and neck. This closes your pores and enhances an even, smooth appearance.
Fresh Face, Happy Soul

I’ve been using the cleanser for the last couple of months and I’m thrilled with it. I’m being extra careful to manage the dry patches on my forehead to avoid discolouration. The Eve Lom Cleanser followed by my favourite moisturizer is really helping.
Bonus – because it is so effective at removing makeup, my undereyes look brighter…mainly due to the fact that it’s removing all traces of eyeliner and mascara. I guess I better cancel that appointment for undereye filler.
Have you tried Eve Lom Cleanser? What did you think?
This sounds great and your skin looks incredible! Could always use something like this, especially in the winter months!

Oh that salesperson story, lol. I would have been so annoyed. But turns out it was good that you got those Eve Lom samples. I actually only have samples from that brand. But maybe now I’ll get a full size of the cleanser.

It’s really lovely, Cheryl. I think you’ll like it too because you mentioned you have dry skin. Oh that salesguy! He was quite charming, so I couldn’t be too mad. He kind of reminded me of Mr. Bean in that movie Love Actually. LOL!
This brand is so new to me and from your experience I am definitely interested in trying!

I know what you mean in terms of not being a fan of something but then you try a specific brand and it changes the game! If its this good then it’s worth the money, usually with these balms a little bit goes a long way and they last!

Loren – I couldn’t have said it better myself. Most of my money goes to skincare and I’m a diehard believer that sometimes, you just need to pay a little more to be happy. Thank you so much for reading! And yeah – this stuff is so good, a little does go a very long way!
Your skin is so flawless, I will gladly take any recommendations from you!
