Why I’m Loving Clinique’s Pop Lip Shadows – Especially During The Winter

ARGH! My poor lips are taking such a beating from this record-setting cold snap we are experiencing in my city! They are chapped. They are cracked. They are hideous right now. I’ve been plastering on a favourite all-natural shea butter lip balm regularly that’s really helping, but the colourless formula is leaving me a little bored. So, I’ve been adding Clinique’s Pop Lip Shadows on top for a burst of colour.

Clinique's Pop Lip Shadow is a great option for colourful lips in the winter! Just apply over your favourite lip balm!

These Pop Lip Shadows are gorgeous just on their own! The packaging is sleek and sharp. They look almost like a makeup weapon and I’m feeling them hard.

I received four vibrant pink colours to test and all of them are making me feel very “tropical vacation” during the dead of winter right now.

A really interesting formula, these lip shadows are (gettin’ my Yoda on here). Vibrant powders deliver a hugely pigmented shade which is deeply rich and matte. I looked at the sponge tip applicator skeptically and was relieved when I read that it was anti-bacterial. No nasty growth is happening in these applicators.

As I’m giving my lizard lips a rest from my favourite matte lipsticks, these are still allowing me to rock my preferred matte look thanks to applying a little balm beforehand. I’m loving that my lips can heal while still looking pouty and colourful. PRO TIP: use a matte lip balm before applying these to keep that velvety, matte effect.

Super easy to apply, simply screw the top on which loads the colour onto the sponge applicator, unscrew and apply to lips as you would any normal lipstick. Voilà! You look like you’ve just eaten a cherry popsicle.

I received Fuchsia Pop, Blossom Pop, Fiesta Pop and Crimson Pop and I’m loving each and every one of these happy colours. Each of these lip shadows pop on my skin tone and I promise, make you feel a bit brighter and happier as you step out into the winter cold.

Sigh…I gotta admit…I really wish I was wearing these while stepping into the Caribbean Sea. Back to checking out those travel deals…
