Taking Luxury To New Heights – The 2020 Lincoln Aviator

There are a few things in life that I treasure: fine travel, fine food and a fine car…and I was treated to all three during a luxurious trip throughout the Quebec City and Charlevoix Regions courtesy of Lincoln. On this trip, I was able to experience the stylish 2020 Lincoln Aviator that checks off everything that this lady could want in an SUV.

Loving the turbine-inspired wheels

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator

The Lincoln Aviator possesses all the bells and whistles that an SUV of this price range could offer (starting at $69K). This is something my girlfriends and I have discussed at length recently regarding luxury car purchases. Not only are we all concerned with reliability, fuel efficiency and safety, all of us want something that turns heads on the road.

My picture does not capture the true beauty of this SUV. WOW!! The details are on point.

Speaking of “turning heads”, that is exactly what the Aviator does. Its streamlined exterior is influenced by aviation, complete with wheels designed to look like an aircraft’s turbine engine, topped off by a well-laid out, cockpit-like cabin.

The cabin’s buttery soft leather, 30-way massage seats (heaven!) and a 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System further elevates the Aviator experience.

The interior is very spacious also, with its three rows of seats and enough leg room for the tallest of your friends.

Standout Features You Will Love

Driving the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is truly an experience to behold. This SUV is so comfortable and intuitively designed that I felt completely relaxed while driving it.

Some of the features that really stood out to me were:

The Engine!

The twin turbocharged V6 engine offers up 400 horsepower making the Aviator a total blast to drive. Gorgeous and powerful.

Phone As A Key

The Phone As A Key technology allows you to unlock, start, drive and personalize the driving experience with your smartphone. No more fumbling for keys on those cold winter days. You can now remote start and enter the Aviator with your phone. You can also tailor your personal profile to adjust 80 of your fave features like adjusting your seat, mirror and pedal positions, entertainment settings, climate controls…you name it.

Head-Up Display

The Head-Up Display feature is a favourite. You can choose which features to display on the windshield such as speed, exterior temperature, lane-keeping system information, etc. This is great as you will never have to take your eyes off the road to check important information.

Symphony-Worthy Chimes

Get this – Lincoln collaborated with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to develop soothing chime sounds to alert you of such things as unfastened seat belts and doors not closed properly. Gone are the days of irritating beeps and dings. They are replaced by soothing soft-warning and hard-warning chimes consisting of violin, viola and xylophone.

Pre-Collision Assist – Automatic Emergency Braking

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator offers up an incredible safety feature in its Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking system. This feature uses camera technology to scan the roadway and delivers a warning if a vehicle or pedestrian collision is detected. If the driver does not respond in time, the system will apply full braking to reduce the severity or possibly prevent some frontal collisions.

Even the hood is comfortable! Ha!

Drive Modes For Everyone

There are several drive modes to choose from such as Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery, 4×4, and Deep Conditions. I love the comfortable luxurious feel of the Normal drive mode which was excellent for the picturesque, leisurely drives within the Quebec City Region.

Those of you who want to put the 2020 Lincoln Aviator to the test will love the sporty Excite Mode which was great on the twisting roads of the Charlevoix Region.

No matter what, the Aviator sips gas despite its size and power (size-wise, it feels like a smaller Lincoln Navigator).

Wireless Smartphone Charging

Located in the centre console is a handy wireless charging station for your smartphone. Kiss annoying wires goodbye!

Enjoying The Luxe Life With Lincoln

Completely at peace on our whale-watching trip
A young humpback cresting the surface. The joy!

I drove the 2020 Lincoln Aviator from the storied Manoir Le Richelieu in Charlevoix, Québec to Baie Sainte-Catherine where we were all treated to a whale-watching trip. Whale-watching, by the way, has always been on my bucket list, so I can die happy now.

We saw humpbacks, rorqual whales and belugas, and I shrieked with joy each time they crested the surface. This experience was truly magical!

A curious emu

We were also treated to a visit to a local emu farm, which was a TRIP! I loved seeing the little baby emus playing with each other. We soon discovered that emus are curious creatures who have no problem coming right up to you to peck you on the nose (ouch – lesson learned).

Before meeting the emus, we were treated to a fabulous lunch at the Centre de l’Émeu de Charlevoix consisting of several emu-based dishes.

Gorgeous views we experienced while cruising around Charlevoix, QC

Following that was an incredible dinner at the charming Vices Versa in La Malbaie. We also had lunch at Auberge La Goéliche located on île d’Orléans which boasts some of the loveliest views of the Saint Lawrence River. Our group was also treated to a once in a lifetime, 11-course meal at Laurie Raphael in Quebec City. This restaurant features incredible interior decor and art, on top of the lovely gastronomic experience. Don’t forget to try their artful cocktails!

Loved exploring and capturing the beauty of Manoir Le Richelieu

Also of note were the historic hotels we stayed at: the Fairmont Château Frontenac and the Manoir Le Richelieu which were completely in line with the Lincoln experience.

Driving the 2020 Lincoln Aviator was truly an experience to behold – one that you should experience too. If you are curious about this luxe SUV and would like to take it for a spin, visit www.lincoln.ca to find your nearest dealership. Send me a note to let me know how your test drive goes!
