This winter was “way harsh, Tai.” Sorry. Just watched Clueless…
My skin was ravaged from the winter dryness and indoor heating. While I have oily skin, my face always felt like it was going to crack, which eventually resulted in breakouts. I hate nothing more that freaking breakouts. I had to take action.
I had an appointment for laser hair removal at my favourite medical esthetics clinic and told the resident doctor about my skin issues. She recommended that I try out Dermalogica’s line of skin care. I thought “why not?” as I looked in the mirror at my latest round of breakouts…I had nothing to lose! I left the medispa that day with Dermalogica Skin Clearing Wash, Daily Microfoliant, and Active Moist Moisturizer.
After a few weeks of using the products as prescribed, I started to see a major improvement – thank God! The product I especially loved though was the Active Moist Moisturizer! It was light and smelled pleasant (an all-natural, herbal, Aveda-like scent). This moisturizer is oil-free, contains no artificial scents or colours. The doctor at the spa recommended that I put it on using gentle, upward strokes. This apparently combats sagging. Giddy up!
The Dermalogica website describes this lotion as a sheer, easy-to-apply formula that helps to hydrate combination skin. It contains Silk Amino Acids which better penetrate the skin surface to combat aging.
I am currently using this moisturizer now and very happy with the slightly dewy glow it gives me. Love it and I highly recommend! I paid $48 for a 50mL tube…slightly on the pricey side, but I feel it’s worth it (and you shouldn’t skimp on your skincare).
