What is Multi-Masking?

Multi-masking is the practice of using different kinds of masks simultaneously on different zones of the face, in order to address concerns for those specific areas. It is definitely the most efficient way to give yourself a facial.

Multimaskers recommend using several different treatments at the same time in order to get the ultimate skin remedy, customized to your personal needs. Besides that, creating your own combinations seems like a valid excuse to buy three or more masks for your skincare routine.

Why Multi-Masking?

One mask is never enough – it is always a good idea to layer different products for the best results. This practice is basically contouring with different kinds of masks – the patchwork face mask trend is becoming a massive hit nowadays.

Numerous beauty bloggers and celebrities are crazy about it, and their Instagram profiles are stacked with photos that show their faces covered in different masks. Even beauty aestheticians advocate it, simply because not every area has the same characteristics and concerns. A mix-and-match masking regime is recommended to people who are, for example, prone to acne on the chin, but have dry skin on the cheeks. Such a routine once or twice a week will certainly give optimal results.

Different Products for Different Zones

This trend is much more focused on the specific properties of the different zones of the face, which is why the beauty industry puts an emphasis on a wide range of products that are appropriate for them.  Here are some of the best tips on how to successfully treat different areas, so check them out.

  1. Lips

Our lips are very delicate, and the truth is that they are often neglected in the process of taking care of the skin, similarly to the under-eye area. Luckily enough, there are numerous rejuvenating masks that are designed specifically for lips. Use one of those to recover them when they are feeling parched and lifeless.

  1. Cheeks

As the highest points of the face, cheeks are getting the most sun exposure, which can result in different skin problems. Hyperpigmentation, lack of volume, and dryness are just some of them, and these have to be treated with different types of products. For example, masks that contain vitamin C are the best for treating hyperpigmentation, since they will boost the production of collagen and make the skin much brighter.

Even homemade masks are a great option – avocado is one of the ingredients that is highly beneficial to the dry and flaky skin, since it hydrates it and makes it very soft. You can combine home remedies with organic face masks for the best possible effect.

  1. T-Zone

Many people have an oily T-zone, which is why masks for this area have to tackle this problem appropriately. Sulfur-based products can be very useful, because these will vacuum out both blackheads and whiteheads. Besides that, they will minimize the appearance of pores and reduce acne blemishes. Even charcoal and clay are great, particularly with breakouts around the nose.

  1. Under-Eye Area

Under-eye area requires extremely gentle products simply because skin is very thin on this part of the face. Anti-aging masks are often used to get rid of the fine lines and wrinkles, whereas caffeine is the top ingredient for dealing with the dark circles. Besides these, masks that deliver oxygen antioxidants are great for reducing the puffiness in this area.

If you haven’t tried this latest beauty trend, what are you waiting for? This is definitely one of the best solutions for getting an ultimate skincare treatment that is tailored just for you. As soon as you realise that, your life will become much easier. Try it and you definitely won’t regret it!

A huge thank you to Sophia for the great post!

Wow, this is pretty awesome! It makes perfect sense, since I have an oily t-zone but dry everywhere else. Will definitely have to give this a try! -xo

Well, I learn something new today! 🙂 This is a great idea – similar to how I apply skincare since I have combination skin. I put more emollient creams on my cheeks and gel-creams textures on my t-zone. Different areas need different pampering!

This is awesome! I have yet to multimask since most of my masks are for the same results but I love this idea!

It’s good to see people are starting to do this, I’m doing beauty therapy in college so half the time doing facials we need to multi mask, but to be pretty honest we know what mask to stick where but we don’t know much about the different ingredients/vitamins and so on so was good to learn a bit more with this post x
