Hello. My Name is Dominique And I’m Addicted To Charlotte Tilbury

I remember when Charlotte Tilbury hit the scene, people LOST THEIR MINDS. The hype was REAL. Me, always swayed by the latest and greatest was desperate to check out this new brand that was making some huge waves due to it being well-thought out and inclusive, with colour ranges suitable for all skin tones. Not only were the colour ranges great, the quality was apparently out of this world (the skincare!!).

Hello. My Name Is Dominique And I'm Addicted To Charlotte Tilbury

Unfortunately, the brand was not available in my city (sigh, Ottawa… get it together), so I happily accompanied my husband to Toronto so that I could summarily ditch the poor guy and rush to Holt Renfrew to check out this coveted makeup.  Well, I won’t lie. I couldn’t check it out. You know why? Because there were about 100,000 women swarming the Charlotte Tilbury counter and I couldn’t get close to any matte lipsticks, fab highlighters or Magic Foundations to save my life. I left Holts with my tail between my legs, as my husband laughed maniacally, simultaneously happy that I didn’t spend my life savings on makeup and happy to have someone to keep him company at his Raptors game.

A few months later, I travelled to London and the same thing happened at Selfridge’s. These failed attempts just made me covet Charlotte Tilbury makeup more and I looked on in desperation as happy tourists and natives waltzed away from the counter with Charlotte Tilbury goodies in tow. Very unfair!

Well, fast forward a couple of years and I finally have a nice collection of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and eyeshadows (and I’m now hunting down a bottle of her Scent of A Dream perfume). And I have to say, this brand does not disappoint. Her matte lipsticks are on point – incredibly matte, yet hydrating…they will not dry out your lips in the least or leave them looking “lizard-y”. They are my all time faves. And let’s not forget the truly magical Magic Foundation in colours for everyone! Truly some of the best foundation out there. The coverage is fabulous, yet light and weightless and never leaves you looking cakey. I’m slow clapping over here.

Enough gushing, Dom…let’s review some products!! *actively tries to slow heart rate*

Luxury Palette Colour-Coded Eyeshadows – The Vintage Vamp

Hello. My Name Is Dominique And I'm Addicted To Charlotte Tilbury

What can I say other than Vintage Vamp is my new favourite eyeshadow palette? This quad of fabulous shades that are reddish, bronze and gold are sooo flattering on my skintone, that when I first tried them out, I danced around my bathroom. Easily buildable, you may apply these shadows lightly for a beautiful look, or go full on sexy vamp!  Don’t let the sparkling golden “Pop” colour scare you…it is the best shimmering gold out there. I can’t get over it. You would have to pry this quad out of my cold dead hands, I love it so much.

The four eyeshadows complement each other beautifully and in my opinion, would be very flattering on all skintones.  The shadows are soft, finely milled, a joy to apply, highly pigmented, stay put…the whole nine yards. They made my chocolate eyes pop and I got a ton of compliments from my girlfriends. 10 out of 10.

Cheek To Chic Swish & Pop Blusher

Hello. My Name Is Dominique And I'm Addicted To Charlotte Tilbury

When this product crossed my desk, my heart sunk a little. With its pale two-tone pink colour, I didn’t think it would suit my dark skin tone. Well, I was wrong. It is gorgeous. Its warm pink tone gives my skin a healthy glow that makes me look lit from within! It made me look healthy and awake, and highlighted the apples of my cheeks and cheekbones nicely. Simply swirl your blush brush around the product, tap away the excess, apply to your cheeks and voilà! Healthy glow!

Nude Kate

Nude Kate is a “true” nude for fair skin. Named after Kate Moss, one of my style idols, this lipstick is a light creamy beige and very wearable. The formulation is extremely creamy and feels great on lips, and the lipstick is highly pigmented providing full coverage. This lipstick has a pleasant vanilla scent and soft, beautiful sheen (light gloss). I was surprised at how nice it looked on me! I was expecting it to be a bit pale, but it was quite flattering. Side note: the Charlotte Tilbury website is amazing. You can see what all lipsticks look like on a variety of skin tones, which takes a lot of stress out of online shopping.

Red Carpet Red is a hot, sexy red that screams Old Hollywood Glamour! WOW! I cannot get over the colour payoff of this lipstick. Rich, creamy, highly pigmented and definitely full-coverage, this nourishing lipstick stayed put for hours and was so complimentary on my skin tone that I was an instant devotee. This very matte lipstick is not like others that dry out your lips, emphasize lines and are just plain uncomfortable to wear. Charlotte Tilbury’s lip products are full of lipstick tree (yes – it’s a “thing”) & orchid extracts which soften, protect and hydrate lips. Red Carpet Red is a beautiful ruby tone that made my lips look brighter. Truly loved it, and so did the husband.

Colour Chameleon Colour Morphing Eyeshadow Pencil in Black Diamonds

Hello. My Name Is Dominique And I'm Addicted To Charlotte Tilbury

Ok – you are going to think that I work for this company, but I’ve said time and time again that only products I truly love make it onto my blog. Well, Charlotte Tilbury is hitting it out of the park. This eyeshadow pencil is STELLAR. A rich charcoal greyish black with intense silver sparkles, I couldn’t think of a better eyeshadow for the flurry of holiday and Christmas parties. Infused with synthetic sapphire, this shadow sparkles beautifully. The pencil is soft and provides an easy, comfortable application without pulling at eyelids. Easily blendable and buildable, you can easily adjust how dark you want your smoky eye. Absolutely love this! I’m actually on the Holt Renfrew website as I type (I’m a multitasker!!) about to buy a few more (Intoxicating Violet looks just too good along with Eyes To Mesmerize in Cleopatra). LOL! Too good.

Here is my video where I try out the Cheek To Chic  Swish & Pop Blusher, Black Diamonds Eyeshadow Pencil and Nude Kate lipstick for a fun, holiday glam makeup tutorial. Have a watch, subscribe to my YouTube channel and enjoy!
